Southampton advance in their pursuit of signing Chelsea midfielder: Report

As per ‘David Ornstein‘, and backed by ‘The Athletic’, Premier League’s Southampton FC is currently in ‘advanced talks’ with Chelsea in order to sign French midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu.

The likely deal for the player between both clubs is reportedly going to be a season-long loan move. However, it will not include any option to buy as helmed by Ornstein.

The report also had it that, despite Chelsea receiving ‘multiple inquiries’ for a permanent sale of the Ugochukwu, they currently deem him as ‘not for sale’.

Also, the 20-year-old is reportedly seen as a part of their ‘long-term’ future plans, and at this stage, the Blues find Southampton an ‘ideal’ step for the ‘development’ of the player.
