Sevilla loan Arsenal’s Belgian midfielder with option to buy

It is a win-win solution between Arsenal and Sevilla over the agreement of Sambi Lokonga. The 24-year old midfielder will leave Emirates Stadium to join Los Rojiblancos on loan with an option to buy. 

Arsenal wished that the player could gain more playing time with the Andalusian side. On the other hand, Sevilla need a boost for their midfield force to strengthen their squad in the upcoming season. 

Multiple reports said that the fee is known to be around £10.1 million and Sevilla will cover Lokonga’s full salary during the 2024/25 season. With his picture circulating online, showing Lokonga was in Spain, it is believed that the process has been running for weeks behind closed doors. 

Since coming from Anderlecht in the 2021/22 season, Lokonga has never scored for Arsenal. For the two and a half seasons, he has been loaned to both Crystal Palace and Luton Town where he scored one Premier League goal for the latter.
