Sergi Roberto to leave Barcelona, reveals Romano
Barcelona star Sergi Roberto is all set to announce his departure from the club within the next 24 hours, revealed transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X. His contract with the Catalans is already up and will be available in the market as a free agent. There were reports that Roberto’s agent was pushing for a contract renewal. He was even reported to have agreed to stay on for one more year with the option of extending it further, but Xavi’s departure saw the Blaugrana go back on their intentions. The Spaniard officially became a free agent on 1 July 2024. Now, he is all set to make his departure official through a press conference soon, and is said to be eyeing a move to the Premier League. After coming through the ranks at La Masia, Roberto broke into Barcelona’s senior team in 2010 and has since racked up 373 appearances for them in all competitions, winning 20 titles, including two in the Champions League.
