Man United Hit by Scott McTominay Injury Concern Before Their Upcoming Premier League Clash
Scott McTominay is set to go through a scan after his recent injury trouble
Scott McTominay suffered an injury scare in the closing minutes of the Premier League clash between Man United and Burnley. The Scottish midfielder was taken off the field after getting attended to by United’s medical staff. The clash ended in a 1-1 draw as both the teams had some chances to win it during the injury time added on.
For Burnley, it was a crucial point in their relegation battle to survive in the Premier League, whereas a point dampened the Red Devils’ European qualification hopes as they were expected to beat Vincent Company’s side at Old Trafford. In addition to the points being dropped, McTominay’s late exit made it overall a more concerned day for Erik ten Hag’s team.
As per the latest reports, Scott Mctominay is set to have a scan for his injury faced against Burnley. He is likely to miss out on United’s next Premier League clash against Crystal Palace. After United’s last league match, Erik ten Hag has made clear that the midfielder might be missing out on their squad for their next game.
“We have to assess this, to set the diagnosis”. “I don’t know at this moment to return (for the Crystal Palace fixture), I think it’s a little bit too quick turnaround”, the United manager reportedly asserted. However, the return of McTominay to the on-field action will depend upon how things progress for him further on his injury.
Scott McTominay has been a game-changer for Man United in the 2023-2024 season
Scott McTominay has emerged as one of the unlikeliest saviors for Man United so far in the 2023-2024 Premier League campaign. The Scottish midfielder has consistently popped up in attacking areas during certain phases for his team finishing up important chances and getting the Red Devils back into the matches single-handedly on quite a few occasions.
In his 29 appearances for United in the ongoing Premier League season, McTominay has seven goals and one assist to his name. What’s even surprising is that he has started less than 50 percent of the games for the club in this season’s campaign. The 27-year-old also scored an important goal for his team in their FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City at Wembley to help his side reach the final of the competition. Erik ten Hag would want him fully fit and available as soon as possible.
