Samuel Mather has signed a long-term contract with Manchester United
The 19-year-old has agreed to sign a new contract with the Red Devils which will be valid until the summer of 2027. Mather was part of the squad that lifted the 2021/2022 FA Youth Cup alongside the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
He is a naturally right-footed left winger but can also deploy as a No.9 in certain situations. Last season, he spent time with Rochdale through a flexi-loan in January and made 10 appearances for the club.
Offering a long-term contract to a youth prospect indicates that the player can contribute to the first team in the coming years.
