Rodrygo makes shocking confession about Manchester City vs Real Madrid UCL tie

After a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Etihad Stadium, a lot was expected from both Real Madrid and Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League. And the tie lived up to the billing as the two sides went head to head, scoring once each which led to extra-time. But even that couldn’t separate them before a penalty shootout eventually did.

However, for Real Madrid, the drama was far from over as the Los Blancos faced Bayern Munich and after another first-leg draw (2-2), the game was brought back to the Santiago Bernabeu. Then the away side took the lead and Real Madrid pushed and pushed for an equaliser. All seemed lost until Joselu walked off the bench and scored not once but twice to send the Los Blancos into the final.

It was a stunning display of Real Madrid’s prowess on the elite stage and they face Borussia Dortmund next in the final after the German side beat PSG in their semi-final clash. Yet despite that, many are still shocked that the Los Blancos beat both Manchester City and Bayern on their way to the final. That was especially as many pipped City to win the trophy again as they lifted the Premier League title on the final day.

Not only that, many believe that the Cityzens were the far superior side compared to Real Madrid and Rodrygo admitted that he believes the same as well. The Real Madrid star confessed that Pep Guardiola’s side are the best in the world and while they beat them, it doesn’t mean the toughest fight is over. The Brazilian also added that it will be tough to beat Dortmund but they’ll do their jobs.

“To be honest, we knew they were better. For me, they (Manchester City) are the best team in the world, the one that plays the best football. I think the toughest opponent is gone, but that doesn’t mean winning the final will be easy. It was very difficult with Bayern, and it will be very difficult with Borussia too,”

“On a scale of one to ten, my desire to win this Champions League is a thousand. They say Real Madrid never loses finals, and I hope that’s the case again. I’ve always seen them win all the finals, and I hope it continues.”
