Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal: Fabrizio Romano drops massive news
Arsenal and Bologna are reportedly readying paperwork for Riccardo Calafiori’s move to north London. Calafiori has already agreed a move to north London despite clubs like Chelsea being interested. The defender impressed last season and was one of the main reasons behind Bologna securing Champions League football this season.
He also shone at Euro 2024, bagging an assist against Croatia before missing the round of 16 clash against Switzerland due to suspension. Arsenal have reportedly agreed a 40 million euros plus five million euros in add-ons deal for Calafiro.
Matters got complex as Calafiori’s former club Basel, who sold them to Bologna for four million Euros in 2023, wanted 50% of the transfer sum presented by Arsenal. The negotiation status between Basel and Bologna is still unclear.
However, as per Romano, the Italy international is expected to have his medical as an Arsenal player in the coming days. He joins a rich pool of Arsenal defenders consisting of William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jakub Kiwior, and Jurrien Timber.
