Real Madrid 2-0 Getafe Player Ratings as Mbappe and Bellingham put the Los Blancos back on track
Following their setback in the Champions League in midweek, the reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid look to get things back on track, hosting relegation contender Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu. Whilst they haven’t been at their absolute best yet this season, their current form puts them in a good position to make up for lost ground on league leaders FC Barcelona.
From the get-go, the Real Madrid squad set the tone and were very direct with their approach. Applying heavy pressure with their attacks and creating chances from corners, eventually, Getafe player Allan Nyom was judged after bringing down Antonio Rudiger inside the penalty area for the second time. Bellingham converted the resulting penalty before setting up Kylian Mbappe for Madrid’s second. The second half saw Getafe try to claw their way back into the game but were kept out by a resolute and more structured Madrid side.
All in all the game made for an entertaining contest, with Real Madrid showing some form of consistency and cohesion which the fans have been longing for. That said, it was a strong yet in some ways comfortable game for the Galacticos as they look to put a strong run of results together.
Real Madrid Player Ratings vs Getafe
Goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois: 7/10- Had a pretty secure performance all things considered, and barring a couple of nervy moments in the second half, did not have a lot to do. Commanded the box well, making the occasional save when needed.
Defender
Fran García: 6.5/10- Slightly wild at times, but was very willing to venture forward offensively. Put in a shift defensively as well, but was called into action less than what he would have expected. Regardless, did what was asked of him and did it well.
Raúl Asencio: 7/10- Made a strong start to the game and was ever-present in defense, mopping up danger wherever he could. Growing more comfortable with the ball at his feet as well.
Antonio Rüdiger: 75./10- Dominant in defense, imposing himself physically whenever needed. Made himself a threat during corners as well, and managed to draw a penalty for it as well.
Lucas Vázquez: 6.5/10- Slightly less participative in the game today, owing to the low volume of attacks or traffic down his side. Was possibly outdone on a couple of occasions but other than that did not have any other shortcomings.
Midfielders
Jude Bellingham: 8/10- Played with maximum effort, doing a lot of good work off the ball. Took his penalty well and set up a lovely ball for Kylian Mbappe to pick up and score.
Dani Ceballos: 7.5/10- At times the most impressive player on the pitch, Ceballos dictated the game from deep and impeccably so, allowing the attackers to thrive. Was helped by the lack of offensive pressure coming towards his own goal.
Federico Valverde: 7.5/10- Excellent at times with his build-up play, particularly the pass he played for Madrid’s second goal. Contributed on both sides of the half and put in a very measured performance overall.
Attackers
Kylian Mbappé: 7.5/10- Took his game extremely well and should have put away at least two more chances. Was not able to dribble his way through the defense but still put himself in good positions to score, and tried to help bring his teammates into the game more often.
Rodrygo: 6.5/10- Struggled slightly to get fully involved, playing in the #9 position on the day. When on the ball, he did well to dribble past his man on a few occasions but was mostly left on the outside, having the occasional sloppy touch.
Brahim Díaz: 6/10- Popped up in a number of different positions across the pitch was not really able to affect the game too much offensively. Did have a chance to put the game to bed but was slightly off with his finishing on the night.
Substitutes
Arda Güler: 7/10- Got an entire half to play and showed glimpses of his potential but somehow lacked the physicality needed to impose himself in the midfield. Started strong but eventually faded for a bit of the game, before nearly popping up with an assist.
Luka Modrić: 7/10- Brought a certain balance and stability to the side which helped them see out the game without any major hiccups. Could have gotten an assist as well.
Manager
Carlo Ancelotti: 7.5/10- Will feel much better with the outcome and the performance, finally managing to get the best out of his star players. Showed signs of the old in the second half but will be satisfied with the performance regardless. Seems to be figuring out how to make his system work, which will be key for the upcoming matches.

Goalkeeper
David Soria: 6.5/10- Slightly hard done by due to his defense but did not do himself any favors on a few occasions, coming way off his line. Made a host of decent saves and couldn’t really have done too much for the goals he conceded.
Defender
Juan Iglesias: 7/10- Possibly the brightest out of a bad bunch. Kept Mbappe honest on occasions and was able to match Fran Garcia’s pace at times. Could not offer much going forward but that was the case for most of his team.
Juan Berrocal: 6/10- Had a torrid time in defense and did not do his side any favors at the back today. Nearly gave away a very silly penalty for handball but thankfully saw the ball strike his leg before hitting his hand.
Domingos Duarte: 6.5/10- Struggled at times to keep up with the Madrid attack. Made a few last-ditch tackles but seemed to have a difficult time keeping things under control at the back.
Diego Rico: 6.5/10- Fared slightly better defensively than some of his teammates. That said, didn’t really offer much for his side other than a long-range effort which was quite close to creeping in.
Midfielders
Allan Nyom: 5/10- Very careless with the fouls and giving away the penalty. Hardly offered anything going forward which made things worse. Was rightly hooked at halftime for the shocking display.
Luis Milla: 6/10- Outrun in the midfield and could only put together a handful of passes that his teammates could make something of. Was visibly frustrated with himself and his performance at times as well.
Omar Alderete: 6/10- A middling performance in the middle of the park. Did not have any special contributions or moments in the game either.
Carles Pérez: 6/10- Picked up the ball in good areas but couldn’t really affect the game or pose enough of a threat. Was still better than most of his teammates in the final third and attacking areas.
Attackers
Álvaro Rodriguez: 6.5/10- Put himself about, being a real nuisance against his parent team. Did not do much to impress with his attacking qualities but was a real thorn in Madrid’s side on the night.
Mauro Arambarri: 5.5/10- Hardly offered anything going forward, and was mostly left retreating back to his own half. Was caught offside after a lazy run and that summed up his offensive contributions on the night.
Substitutes
Coba da Costa: 6.5/10- Proved to be of some threat after coming on. Managed to get to the byline a couple of times and wiggle into the box but ultimately could not put anything up on the board despite his best efforts.
Christantus Uche: N/A
Álex Sola: N/A
John Finn: N/A
Yellu Santiago: N/A
Peter González: N/A
Manager
José Bordalás: 6/10- Needed to put out a better side from the get-go instead of saving some of his better players for later as it ended up costing him the game. Needs to sort out his defensive frailties if he intends to keep his side in the promotion.
