Real Madrid star Toni Kroos set for interesting venture after retiring at Euro 2024
Toni Kroos has called time on his illustrious career and ended his adventure with Real Madrid in fairytale fashion by winning the UEFA Champions League. The German playmaker has spent 10 years at the Santiago Bernabeu but has decided to end his career while still playing at the top of world football. He has the chance to ride off into the sunset by helping Germany win the European Championships in his homeland this summer.
The 34-year-old is set to dip his toe in the property world once he hangs his boots up after Euro 2024. He is entering the real estate business with his company, ‘Kroos Properties XXI’, per Marca. He’s been a master on the pitch for many years and will take his wisdom to the property market.
Toni Kroos will also concentrate on the foundation he runs with his wife Jessica, the ‘Toni Kroos Foundation’. This is focused on helping children with cerebral palsy and terminal illnesses while offering support for families. He founded the charitable organization in 2015 with the goal of ‘putting smiles on children’s faces’.
The 108-cap Germany international left many smiles on faces at Wembley in his last outing for Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final (June 1). He assisted Dani Carvajal for the opener in a 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund to win his sixth European title. It was an emotional night for the former Bayern Munich man, who ended his club career with more European glory.

Who is taking No. 8 at Real Madrid after Toni Kroos retirement?
Toni Kroos is set to hand Real Madrid‘s iconic No.8 jersey to Federico Valverde, with the duo holding a strong friendship from their time together at the Bernabeu. The Uruguayan playmaker ‘cried for hours’ after learning of the veteran midfielder’s retirement decision last month. He spoke after the Champions League final and confirmed he’d be swapping his No.15 shirt for the No.8 (via 90min):
“I love number 15, my dream at Real Madrid started with this number. But yes, I will change it in two months. Let’s say that chapter finished quite well.”
Valverde, 25, has big boots to fill, but he’s been in excellent form since joining Los Blancos in July 2018. He’s posted 21 goals and 23 assists in 258 games. He’ll be expected to help Carlo Ancelotti try and replace Toni Kroos’ creativity, which will be a massive loss for the La Liga giants.
