Real Madrid decide against transfer for ex-Borussia Dortmund star
Borussia Dortmund legend Mats Hummels is available as a free agent this summer and there were concrete reports of Real Madrid being interested in securing a transfer for the German.
As reported by AS, Los Blancos have now withdrawn their interest and are not looking to sign Hummels because he doesn’t fit the profile of a player that Carlo Ancelotti currently wants. The German has since been close to joining Bologna in Italy.
Real Madrid are looking for a long-term replacement for Nacho and are said to be looking for a player in the bracket of 21-26 years of age. It remains to be seen how Florentino Perez tackles this issue in the summer transfer window.
Multiple reports have also claimed that Hummels missed his medical at Bologna in hopes of a move to Real Madrid.
