Will Real Madrid change Jude Bellingham’s playing position after Kylian Mbappe arrival?

Kylian Mbappe was officially revealed as a player for Real Madrid earlier this week on Tuesday. He has joined Los Blancos after years of intense pursuit from the Champions League warlords.

But due to his arrival, Jude Bellingham may play the role of a central midfielder next season after a remarkable campaign as Real Madrid’s No.10 in his first season at the club. The Englishman arrived in a deal worth €103 million from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

Last season, the 21-year-old midfielder was the joint third-highest goalscorer alongside Robert Lewandowski with 19 goals. But according to Diario AS, Bellingham will play more centrally in the upcoming season, rather than an attacking midfielder.

How will Bellingham slot in his new position at Real Madrid next season?

Due to the arrival of Kylian Mbappe from PSG this summer, Jude Bellingham will slot in as a central midfielder instead of No.10 for the upcoming season. The 21-year-old dished out 23 goals and 13 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

However, Mbappe’s arrival would move the Englishman down to a central midfield role as opposed to playing as an offensive midfielder last season. The midfield would comprise the likes Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde and Bellingham with the former operating as a defensive midfielder.

This could see quite a shift in the way Real Madrid approach games and it could see them dominate more possession than usual as compared to last season.
