Raheem Sterling calls for clarity after being left out against Man City
The England international was dropped out of Chelsea’s first game in charge under Enzo Maresca when they hosted champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. Sterling was excluded from the first team and the manager explained that it was purely a tactical move.
The Blues have spent over £185m on 11 signings this summer and Maresca has more than 40 senior players to deal with this season. Sterling’s representatives have issued a statement just before the kickoff.
His absence from the squad has led to rumours suggesting that the former Man City winger would be sold in the final two weeks of the summer window, with Juventus interested in his services.
