Premier League Goal of the Season: writer’s pick
All of the nominees in the Premier League Goal of the Season shortlist are world-class strikes. However, if one goal has to be singled out due to its uniqueness, it has to be Alejandro Garnacho’s bicycle kick. The acrobatic nature of the goal is similar to Wayne Rooney’s famous bicycle kick against Manchester City.
Garnacho said after scoring the amazing goal against Everton (via The Guardian):
“I didn’t see how I scored, I just listened to the sound and thought, ‘Oh my God’. It’s the best goal I’ve scored, of course.”
That said, all of the strikes on the list are on the top shelf in terms of the their quality. It’s worth keeping an eye on who takes the prize home.
