Pep Guardiola provides update on the future of Julian Alvarez amid Chelsea and Atletico Madrid links

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has gone ahead and provided a major update on the future of Argentine forward Julian Alvarez, who has been heavily linked with an exit from the club this summer.

Atletico Madrid are said to be close to signing the frontman and Chelsea too are interested, but Guardiola has said that he is waiting for his player to arrive so that he can congratulate the Argentine for his successes with Argentina this summer.

Guardiola said, “Atletico? I’ve nothing to say. He’s (Alvarez is) our player, he’s coming back soon. I’ll hug him and congratulate him, and we start to work together. He is our player. I count on him.”
