Bayern Munich director provides update on Matthijs de Ligt amid Manchester United transfer rumour
Bayern Munich’s football director Max Eberl has provided a much needed update on the future of their Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt, who has been heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United this summer.
The two clubs are said to be locked in talks over a move with the fee being discussed. However, Eberl has come out and stated he will properly comment on the player’s future when there is an update on it, until then, he is a Bayern player and the club will always support him.
On being asked about the reason for De Ligt probably leaving the club, Eberl said, “I will comment on the reasons when it’s time. It is not that time yet. You have to think about what you decide and how he feels. He’s still a Bayern player, we always support him.”
On being asked about United, Eberl said, “Of course, all parties have to be happy.” This comment is in relation to the reported €50m fixed fee that Bayern is demanding from Manchester United for De Ligt.
