OFFICIAL: Brentford striker Ivan Toney completes permanent move to Al Ahli
Brentford forward Iven Toney has sealed a permanent transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli and are set to pay a transfer fee of £40 million ($53 million) for his services. The English striker has reportedly penned a three-year contract with the Saudi side.
Ivan Toney has been an instrumental figure for the Bees helping them secure promotion from Championship to Premier League in the 2020/21 season where he scored 33 league goals. He has been the subject of interest in the final days of the summer window with interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd.
The 28-year-old striker has scored 72 goals in 141 appearances in his four-year spell with Brentford.
“It’s been a pleasure to work with Ivan over the last four years,” Brentford head coach Thomas Frank said.
“He has averaged more than one goal every two games, which is an unbelievable number.
“On the pitch, he has been a fantastic goalscorer, link-up player and leader. He has pushed the team, the squad and himself.”
