Nottingham Forest in Talks to Sign Lamare Bogarde

Nottingham Forest have opened negotiations with Aston Villa to sign Lamare Bogarde on a permanent deal sources have told Football Insider.

Initially, Villa planned to loan the 20-year-old to a Dutch club next season but Forest are keen to secure his services outright reportedly negotiating a £4 million deal.

Bogarde (a versatile player who can adept in both defense and midfield) joined Aston Villa from Feyenoord in 2020. He gained valuable experience with two loan spells at Bristol Rovers in League One where he made 35 appearances. Despite making only one senior appearance for Villa his potential has not gone unnoticed.

Nottingham Forest are eager to complete their business early in the transfer window with Bogarde seen as a young player ready to step into a Premier League first-team environment. The Netherlands Under-20 international was initially set to return to the Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar leading the race for his loan. However, Forest’s determination to secure a permanent transfer has shifted the scenario.

With the departures of loanee full-backs Nuno Tavares and Gonzalo Montiel manager Nuno Espírito Santo is seeking reinforcements to strengthen the squad for the upcoming season.
