Newcastle 3-0 Aston Villa: Player Ratings as Joelinton stars in a resounding win for the Magpies

Newcastle hosted Aston Villa at St. James’ Park in the Premier League and secured a dominant 3-0 win against their rivals on Thursday, December 26.

The hosts got off to a flying start as Anthony Gordon gave them a 1-0 lead after just two minutes on the clock. Joelinton provided an assist for that goal as the Magpies continued to push forward and exert pressure on Aston Villa. The rest of the first half was pretty heated though, with the visitors’ striker Jhon Duran receiving a straight red card for violent conduct.

Newcastle picked up where they left off in the first half as they scored a second goal just before the hour-mark. This time it was Alexander Isak on target, with Jacob Murphy providing the assist. Bruno Guimaraes seemed to have tripled his team’s lead in the 82^nd minute but the goal was cancelled. However, Joelinton scored in the 91^st to secure a 3-0 win.
