Newcastle United eye Trevoh Chalobah in defensive reinforcements
Newcastle United will be eager to return to European football next season as they prepare for the latest Premier League season under the management of Eddie Howe.
While the team has some star names in their ranks, they are looking to strengthen certain departments including the defence where they are targeting Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.
It is understood that new manager Enzo Maresca is not a big fan of the defender and could cash in as the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) also play a key role in the West London club’s finances.
It is reported that Chelsea could sell the defender for a reported fee of $30 million, which Newcastle United could afford to pay for a player like Chalobah. Newcastle have high ambitions of returning to Europe having missed out on the Conference League spot after Manchester United’s FA Cup win over Manchester City at the backend of last season.
