Man Utd’s new signing Leny Yoro names Premier League player as one of his toughest opponents faced
Manchester United recently made official the £52 million big-money signing of 18-year-old Leny Yoro from Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille. The young center-back is rated as one of the most promising talents in Europe as of now. Yoro also played for the Red Devils in their pre-season match against Rangers.
United won the match by 2-0. Leny Yoro received praise for his performance from teammate and goalkeeper Andre Onana. The 18-year-old looked calm and composed on the pitch. Whenever he got the ball, Yoro was able to use it significantly. During his initial interview as a Red Devils player, the youngster laid out his opinion on Aston Villa‘s striker Ollie Watkins.

Leny Yoro labeled Watkins as one of the toughest players from the Premier League that he has played alongside on the pitch. He reportedly told United’s media – “I really liked to play against, of course, Mbappe (Kylian Mbappe). It was a really big, big, deal, so yeah for me it helped me a lot to improve myself”. “It was good against Ollie Watkins too, because this (he) is a big striker here”, Yoro further inserted.
For those wondering, the 18-year-old came up against Villa’s Watkins in the 2023-2024 UEFA Europa Conference League. He played well across the two legs but was unable to do much to prevent Watkins from scoring in the first fixture. However, Leny Yoro will have the opportunity to face the Aston Villa star once again soon when Man United locks horns with the Midlands-based club this October in the upcoming Premier League season.
