Moussa Diaby has completed Al Ittihad medical: Reports

Outbound Aston Villa winger Moussa Diaby is reportedly one step closer to exiting the club after completing his medical with Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League (SPL). This is as per reports from Fabrizio Romano, who provided the update earlier today via his X (Formerly Twitter) account.

Diaby came through the youth ranks with Paris Saint-Germain and debuted with their ‘B’ team in 2017, before being promoted to the first team the following year. However, he was unable to nail down a starting spot and was even sent out on loan to Crotone in the 2018/19 season. The following year, he joined Bayer Leverkusen and spent four years at the club, scoring 49 goals and providing 48 assists in 172 appearances.

He joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen in 2023 and made an instant impact at the club, cementing a starting spot barring any injuries. He made 54 appearances for the club across competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists as well. Aged just 25, his decision to move to Saudi at this stage of his career may come as a surprise for many but there could be a possibility to return to Europe after a couple of years.
