Pedri Injury Update – When will he return to action?
Barcelona’s midfielder Pedri has spent more time on treatment than he does on the pitch. For the fourth time this season, the youngster has to return to the medical room due to his injury. He spent 129 days in total for treatment, comparing to only 24 appearance he made for the club throughout 2023/24 season.
Pedri made way for another Barca young prodigy Lamine Yamal at the half-time during a visit to San Mames in Basque region, facing Athletic Bilbao.

No suregeries required for Pedri’s injury
The latest update from Adria Albets via Barca Blaugranes reports that Pedri does not require any surgeries in healing this crisis. But he has to be sidelined for about six weeks, making him likely to miss the El Classico against Real Madrid.
“It’s hard to stop and start again after all the effort and work behind it,” Pedri on his injury. “Even so, do not doubt that yesterday’s tears of helplessness will return to those of happiness very soon.
“It’s incredible all the love they’ve given me in the last few hours. For you, for the staff, for all those around me, and for myself, we must look forward. We have many joys left to share.”
This is Pedri’s second hamstring injury of the season after suffering it earlier in August. The news drew attention from many Barca enthusiasts, including the former player Andres Iniesta who responded “good luck” to the player’s latest X post.
Barcelona are considering to sell Pedri
The current situation sparked another speculation from the authorised party of Pedri, the club. AS reported that the keep-repeating crisis would make Barcelona think of offloading him in the summer.
Owing to Pedri’s injury history, it is difficult to find a suitor who is willing to match the club’s price tag. According to Transfermarkt, Pedri’s market value is around €90 million, cutting down the price would be the only way for Barcelona if they are willing to sell.
Pedri is not Barcelona’s only injury concern as Frenkie De Jong and Gavi are also on the medical list. Blaugrana’s manager Xavi Hernandez acknowledges the hard time he is going through in his last season managing the club. He hoped that the storm would come to an end earlier than expected, considering the importance of the aforementioned players.
The injuries to Pedri and Frenkie do not look good,” Barca boss Xavi told reporters on Sunday night via The Athletic. “It is very unfortunate. They look like they will miss several games and could be out for a long time. Between today and tomorrow, we’ll know more.
“These are two very important players for us, and it seems like they will now be out for several matches, perhaps a long time. We have to hope it is less than we fear, but it is tremendous misfortune for us.”
