“He was right” – Piers Morgan on Twitter regrets doubting Mikel Arteta
Ever since Mikel Arteta took over as the Arsenal manager, the Gunners have experienced an uptick of form and success even winning the FA Cup inside his first eighteen months as boss. However, things took a serious turn for the better last season as the North Londoners were a part of a title challenge. While the club eventually faltered towards the end, many wondered whether Arteta’s time at the club was over despite the Gunners finishing second in the 2022/23 season.
Yet, under the Spaniard’s guidance, Arsenal have continued their uptick in form and are not only a part of a three team title race this season but have also thrived recently. The club have won all their games since the turn of the year, scoring 31 goals across all competitions. That includes sixteen goals in their last five games while conceding just once.
Piers Morgan on Twitter says that he now backs Mikel Arteta
The club’s recent run of form combined with their uptick since Arteta took over has seen Piers Morgan tweet an apology for criticising the Arsenal boss. The Spaniard had come under stick for his transfer decisions, especially his decision to sign David Raya and Kai Havertz. The latter’s signing from Chelsea especially had many doubting Arteta’s ability.

But both the German and the Spaniard have thrived over the last few months, playing key roles as Arsenal continue to keep pace with both Liverpool and Manchester City in the title race. Not only that, Raya currently leads the race for the Golden Glove with nine clean sheets while Havertz has contributed to 15 goals since his arrival, a large portion of that coming since the turn of the year.
It saw Piers Morgan, on Twitter, write to Arteta and apologised for doubting him. Not only that, Piers Morgan’s tweet also revealed that the English presenter now backs the Arsenal boss to the hilt.
“I doubted Arteta’s decision to replace Ramsdale with Raya. He was right. I doubted Arteta’s faith in Havertz. He was right. I doubted Arteta’s refusal to buy a striker in January. He was right. I’ve stopped doubting,” Piers Morgan’s said on Twitter.
