Messi can retire whenever he wants, says Man City legend

Aguero wishes Messi could play forever

Lionel Messi has “earned the right” to decide when he will retire according to his former teammate and Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero.

The Argentine football legend, who is now 37, continues to shine on the pitch both for Inter Miami and Argentina.

Despite his age, there are no signs of him slowing down but Aguero who played alongside Messi for many years knows that the day will come when the world’s greatest player will hang up his boots.

In an interview with Stake.com Aguero expressed his admiration for Messi by saying:

“Leo will get to decide that, and his decision will be just fine by me, whatever it is. I’d love to see him play forever, but that’s sadly impossible. He’s earned the right to say for how long he’ll play for the national team, and how long he’ll play professional football for that matter.”
