Manchester United 0-2 Crystal Palace Player Ratings: The Reds face another shocking defeat in Premier League

Manchester United have slipped up once again and have lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace at home. The Red Devils have now dropped to 13th in the table with their opponents jumping above with 30 points from 24 matches.

Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the scoring just after the hour mark after a rather dull first half with just one shot on target and that came from the away side. The striker sealed the win in the 89th minute after all the hard work from Munoz as he tapped in from yards out. Here are Manchester United vs Crystal Palace player ratings.

Goalkeeper

Ander Onana – 5: Could have done a lot better for the first goal and his misjudgment gave the away side the lead in the game. There was nothing else he needed to do in the game.

Defenders

Leny Yoro – 7: The defender was confident today but did not get the help needed from his teammates. He was doing well against Kamada and ensured the Japanese star was always on his weak foot.

Harry Maguire – 5: He was caught napping for the first goal and then played Munoz onside for the second. His worst game under Amorim so far.

Lisandro Martinez – 7: A rock-solid performance at the back but it was cut short due to an injury. He was crying when he was stretchered off and it looks like the end of his season.

Midfielders

Noussair Mazraoui – 6: He was up and down the right flank but hardly made an impact in the game. Was taken off at the 70th minute.

Manuel Ugarte – 7: He was doing well in recovering the ball but never managed to push his players forward. Got booked just before he was taken off by Amorim.

Bruno Fernandes – 7.5: He was the best player for Manchester United today but that bar is extremely low these days. He kept trying but got nothing right in the final third.

Diogo Dalot – 6.5: He was all over the left flank but never looked like he was going to influence the scoreline from his passing. Had three shots, but failed to convert from any of them, though they were just outside the six-yard box.

Forward

Amad Diallo – 7.5: The youngster was trying his best to create chances, but never got anyone at the end of his crosses. His only shot in the game was off-target.

Kobbie Mainoo – 7: He was started as a false 9 today and he hit the post at the very start. However, that was his only contribution to the game as he was isolated most of the time.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6.5: He was in his world and looked unbothered by his teammates’ constant call for him to drop back and help. He failed to get any shot on target and was ineffective despite playing the full game.

Ruben Amorim – 5: He got nothing right today. The false9 was a mistake and the substitutions were also not done properly.

Goalkeeper

Dean Henderson – 7: The goalkeeper showed his former side what they were missing. He was calm and composed inside the box and made the saves when needed.

Defenders

Chris Richards – 7.5: He handled Garnacho well and never let the Manchester United star get any shot on target. He was relaxed and did not drift out of position.

Max Lacroix – 7.5: He was the only player to get a shot on target in the first half today. Did not have a lot to do defensively against the Manchester United forwards.

Marc Guehi – 6.5: There was more he could do today. Handled Diallo well and put pressure on Bruno every time the Manchester United captain made an effort to drift into the box.

Midfielders

Daniel Munoz – 8: He was excellent on the right flank. Hungry to get forward and timed his run well to get the assist for the second goal.

Will Hughes – 4.5: He was all over the pitch and never got anything right. He was lucky to be just booked and not sent off today as he was committing too many fouls.

Jefferson Lerma – 8: He was all over the pitch today and never stopped running for the full game. He was ready to help all his teammates today and was brilliant.

Tyrick Mitchell – 7.5: As much as he would like to be appreciated for helping out in dealing with Diallo, he did not do much in attack. He was rather poor in building up play and was finding it hard to get into the final third.

Forward

Ismaila Sarr – 6.5: He did decently well today but not his best. He was poor compared to the other Palace players in the game.

Daichi Kamada – 7: Hooked off at the hour mark as he was not able to do a lot today. Could have got a goal or an assist earlier in the game, but chose to play safe inside the box.  

Jean-Philippe Mateta – 9: He was desperate to get on the scoresheet and did it twice. He was the fox in the box every time his side were in possession and that worked out well.
