Manchester United showing interest in ex-Chelsea defender

The Red Devils are considering a shocking move for former Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso, who left Barcelona earlier this summer as a free agent.

Both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have dealt with long-term injuries and United are forced to consider different options at the right-back position. United are now in the market for a new left-back and Alonso is currently one of three defenders in United’s shortlist this summer.

Alonso is available on a free transfer, but he suffered a back problem throughout last season and managed just appearances in the 2023/24 campaign.
