Manchester United are willing to cash in on Scott McTominay
The Scottish midfielder has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer and has attracted interest from the likes of Newcastle and West Ham United.
West Ham United are keen on signing Scott McTominay who has only a year remaining on his contract. The Manchester United board are yet to make a decision on the midfielder’s future after having stalled a contract extension for the 27-year-old.
McTominay is not a regular player for the Red Devils but has been an influential squad player who has contributed to 10 goals in all competitions last season. He boasts an ample amount of Premier League experience under his belt and could be an ideal player for any top-flight club gunning for his signature.
Manchester United will sign a new midfielder before they sanction McTominay’s departure
At Manchester United, Scott McTominay would not be guaranteed regular minutes and will likely drop down the pecking order if a new midfielder joins the ranks this summer.
The Scottish midfielder has a contract until the summer of 2025 and will likely become a free agent next year. The United board are not keen to sanction a new contract to the 27-year-old and it would make sense for them to cash in on this summer transfer window.
Last season, McTominay notched 10 goals and three assists in 27 starts across all competitions. United could also lose Casemiro after the Brazilian midfielder attracted interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.
Before agreeing to sell both midfielders, United will need to bring reinforcements in the same position. A new midfielder is expected to move to Old Trafford but it remains to be seen who that player is going to be.
