Manchester City star Jack Grealish slammed Manchester City fans while discussing his struggles this season

Manchester City star Jack Grealish has admitted that the fixture schedule has made things difficult for footballers. He claims that the injury made things worse for him and did not help him get back to his form from last season. 

Jack Grealish slammed Manchester City fans

Speaking to the media, Jack Grealish slammed Manchester City fans as they wanted goals and assists more than anything. He stated that the off-the-ball movement and the dribbles leading to chances getting created were being ignored, while tap-ins were appreciated as it got him on the scoresheet.

He said:

“It’s been difficult (this season). Especially on the back of last year, I had such a good season. I was playing a lot and was one of the main players in the team and playing in all the important games. This year at the start of the season I had a dead leg which kept me out for a month and then I didn’t play too often. I don’t think my form was the best and I wasn’t playing with a lot of confidence. In the new year, I had a few injuries again as well with my groin.”

He added that the fan reactions have made things worse for footballers and said:

“Recently, obviously I haven’t scored yet, but I feel good, I feel fit and I feel like I’m playing with good confidence. Hopefully, I can bring that into the end of the season. It’s annoying the way the game has gone because you can have a brilliant game and not get a goal or an assist and they say ‘ah, he didn’t do this or that. And then you can score two tap-ins at the back post and not play well at all and everyone’s like ‘ah, he’s brilliant’.”

Jack Grealish has had a tough season with Manchester City as he has been injured often. He has just 17 appearances in the Premier League this season, in which he has managed to score thrice.

The former Aston Villa star played in the UEFA Champions League clash against Real Madrid but failed to get on the scoresheet. He was subbed off in the second half and was not a part of the penalty shootout. 

The forward was benched by Jeremy Doku earlier this season, but the Belgian has also faded away. The former Anderlecht star has scored just three goals and assisted seven times in 23 Premier League matches for Manchester City.
