Luis Diaz brace against Sevilla doesn’t guarantee his place at Anfield
Luis Diaz’s two goals against Sevilla could be a sign that he would be a reliable player next season. However, that is not what Football Insider understands as Liverpool is reported to stay on the plan of selling the player.
Liverpool will hear proposals from suitors for Diaz as they also need fresh cash to secure Anthony Gordon deal from Newcastle United. Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are known to be the potential destinations for the Colombian.
The price is set for Luis Diaz
The latter particularly, was mentioned by Diaz’s father as a ‘dream’ for him to go to continue his career. But the rumours have faded recently as both PSG and Barcelona are reported to change their priority in transfers.
Diaz started to gain his confidence back after his knee injury in October 2022 when he had to stay off the pitch for 188 days in order to heal the issue. Last season, he played in 51 competitive games, scoring 13 goals for The Reds.
His performance started to spike up even after the 2023/24 season ended. Diaz was playing an important role in Colombia’s journey in the 2024 Copa America, taking his country all the way to the final before losing to Argentina.
Liverpool remain as the only top European side to not yet sign a player during this summer transfer. All the buzz on social media has not turned into reality as there has not been a single announcement within one week prior to the Premier League.
