LOSC vs Real Madrid Preview

  • Tournament: Champions League
  • Date: Wednesday, Oct 2
  • Kick-off Time: 08:00 pm GMT
  • Venue: Stade Pierre-Mauroy, France

French giants LOSC Lille will play host to new European warlords Real Madrid in their second game of the 2024/25 Champions League season at Stade Pierre-Mauroy. The defending champions are heading into the European competition on the back of a mixed domestic form.

Hosts Lille have dropped points in their Champions League opener against Sporting but are coming off a 3-0 win over La Havre in the domestic league. Bruno Genesio’s men currently sit fifth in the league table and have managed only three wins from their six games. This match will be the first meeting between these two clubs and Lille’s 16th appearance against any Spanish team.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are once again considered favorites in this tournament given their long-standing dominance in the Champions League. There will be pressure on Carlo Ancelotti’s side who are three points behind Barcelona in the La Liga table as they experienced an underwhelming start to the new season.
