Liverpool ready to cash in on forgotten English defender

The Reds are ready to sanction the departure of 27-year-old Nat Phillips, who has only one year left on his Liverpool contract. Earlier this month, we saw Liverpool reject a bid for £4m for the outcasted defender.

Phillips has struggled to establish a foothold in the first-team squad and made loan spells at Celtic and Cardiff City last season. Since joining Anfield in the summer of 2016, Phillips has managed only 29 appearances for the Merseyside club.

The 27-year-old entered the final 12 months of his contract and his eight-year stay at Anfield will come to an end before the new Premier League campaign.
