Liverpool plotting a move for Bundesliga winner Odilon Kossounou

The Reds are seriously considering a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Odilon Kossounou. The believe that the defender possesses all the physical and technical attributes to succeed in the English top-flight. Kossounou still has two years left on his Leverkusen contract.

The 23-year-old defender has been established as one of the mainstays in Xabi Alonso’s setup and has gone from strength and strength since his arrival in Germany in the summer of 2021.

Kossounou has been viewed as a potential replacement for Joel Matip, who left Liverpool this summer. Meanwhile, Kossounou will likely cost €45 million. Liverpool are interested and have reportedly enquired about the deal despite a premium price tag on the Ivory Coast international.
