Liverpool keeping tabs on ace defender if Joe Gomez leaves

The Reds have sparked an interest in Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni and could make a late approach for him if Joe Gomez leaves before the end of the transfer window. Gomez has been linked with a move away from Liverpool despite having three years left on his contract.

Alessandro Bastoni could be a superb long-term replacement for Gomez and is regarded as one of the best defenders in the Serie A. Signing an elite defender like the Italian would be a step in the right direction.

Liverpool have been pretty quiet this summer and has been linked with a few in the final few days of the transfer window.
