Lionel Messi Celebrates his 45th Major Title with Inter Miami
Eastern Conference leaders Inter Miami beat Chicago Fire 2-1 with Jordi Alba’s goal in the 75th minute securing a hard-fought win for the Herons. They have extended their lead to five points in the table and are currently sitting with 53 points.
The MLS will go on a month-long hiatus due to the League Cup following which Inter will host FC Cincinnati on August 24 when play resumes.

The Argentine legend secured his 45th major title of his professional career, surpassing Dani Alves as the most decorated player in football’s history. The Copa America win this summer added a feather to Messi’s notable cap and his journey has been nothing short of remarkable.
Tonight, we celebrate a great milestone of our captain Leo Messi in becoming the footballer who has lifted the most trophies in the history of this sport and I am sure he won’t stop at 45. We hope he can lift many more in the future.

Following Inter Miami’s game against Chicago Fire, Messi was brought to the pitch to collect a plaque honoring his 45th major victory for club and nation. The veteran forward has now won four major titles with Argentina in just three years: one World Cup, two Copa America trophies and a Finalissima.
When will Lionel Messi make his return?
The Inter Miami star sustained an ankle injury during the Copa America final against Colombia. Inter Miami manager Tata Martino has already confirmed Messi’s absence from upcoming MLS games against Toronto and Chicago.
The 37-year-old is expected to be out for a month and will make his return once MLS resumes following the League Cup.
