Leny Yoro reveals why he chose Man Utd over Real Madrid
In-demand defender Leny Yoro has finally revealed why he chose to sign for Manchester United instead of Real Madrid.
The Red Devils faced an intense battle with Los Blancos over the signature of highly-rated Yoro, a defender who was also being targeted by the likes of Liverpool and PSG. However, they came out victors from this transfer chase by shelling out £52million plus add-ons.
In his first interview as a United player, Yoro revealed why he chose the Red Devils over Los Blancos as he said, “Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honour.
“Since my first conversations with the club, they set out a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project, and showed a lot of care for me and my family.
“I know about the history of young players at Manchester United and feel it can be the perfect place to reach my potential and achieve my ambitions, together with my new team-mates. I cannot wait to get started.”
It has been reported that Real Madrid weren’t willing to go above £33m (€40m) in order to sign Yoro.
