Leicester City Transfer News: Medical Booked for Fulham’s Winger
Leicester City can announce the signing of Fulham’s winger Bobby De Cordova-Reid in the upcoming days. A report from ‘The Telegraph’, enlists that the Jamaican international is scheduled to undergo a medical at the club within the next 24 hours.
Bobby De Cordova-Ried’s Fulham contract is set to expire on June 30, 2024. He would have been a free agent after that. However, Fulham did try to offer him a contract extension, but reports signify that the 31-year-old has turned down the opportunity to elongate his stay at the Craven Cottage.
Leicester City’s new manager Steve Cooper is also termed to be a major influence in the Foxes landing the player despite Fulham’s attempt to keep him. The Jamaican international’s game has improved a lot under Marco Silva at Fulham. Earlier he used to carry a threat on the pitch with his pace and dynamic style of play but wasn’t as convincing a finisher in front of the goal.
De Cordova-Reid improved that side of his game as well and ended up scoring some vital goals for Marco Silva’s side in the previous campaign. It would be interesting to see how Steve Cooper utilizes him at Leicester City. Majorly playing as a right-winger, the 31-year-old can also play as an attacking midfielder and a central midfielder.
The England-born attacker has eight goal contributions to his tally (six goals and two assists) in his 33 appearances for Fulham in the 2023-2024 Premier League season.
