When will Neymar return to play football for Al-Hilal?
Al-Hilal coach Jorge Jesus has confirmed that Neymar will return in September. The Brazilian joined the club last summer and has played only five games for the Saudi Pro League giants, scoring one goal and providing three assists. Neymar hasn’t played since October 2023.
Latest update on Neymar’s injury and his return to team
He is yet to play a game this season and Jesus has confirmed that Neymar will be back in action in September. Meanwhile, reports percolated that Neymar has asked for a return to Barcelona. The Brazilian’s camp rubbished the reports, claiming in a statement:
“The articles on Ney’s return to Barça from Al Hilal are LIES and tremendous disrespect for Al Hilal and the athlete”. “Neymar is under contract with Al Hilal and he’s happy in Riyadh. Soon he returns to the pitch to delight the fans.”
Al-Hilal, on the other hand, are looking forward to seeing when Neymar returns. They will make a decision regarding registering the player upon his availability. Given Neymar doesn’t return soon, Al-Hilal could look to register him in the winter transfer window, which will allow them to register an extra player now.

Al-Hilal coach reflects on how the team managed Neymar’s absence
Replacing a player of Neymar’s quality is not easy for any team. Al-Hilal, however, did exactly that last season. Despite the Brazilian barely playing, they won the Saudi Pro League by a considerable margin. Jorge Jesus has now shared his take on how his team can overcome any obstacle, telling the media:
“There is no impact on the absence of Saud Abdul Hamid. The value of the team is in the group, and we will find solutions for that. We were able to compensate for the absence of Neymar last season and preserved the value of the team.”
Apart from Neymar, Al-Hilal also has Malcom, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and more in their ranks. That said, the presence of a player of Neymar’s quality would be massive for the club, as well as for the fans.
