Manchester City area facing potential sanctions for financial breaches
Outgoing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he will join their bus parade if the Reds are awarded two Premier League titles. Manchester City are facing charges for alleged financial breaches and could be stripped off their titles, with the team coming in second to be awarded it instead.
After nine years at the club, Klopp called it quits with the Anfield outfit this season. The German wrapped-up his tenure last weekend as Liverpool played their final league game of the season against Wolves, winning 2-0.
Under his management, Liverpool saw tremendous success, even clinching their first-ever Premier League title in 2020. In two season, they finished a close second – in 2018-19 and 2021-22.
In both those season, City won the title, but if the are found guilty of financial breaches, those league titles could go to Liverpool instead, making it three for the club and Klopp.
Upon being asked if he would join their celebrations in case suc a scenario comes to pass, the 56-year-old didn’t even hesitate and vowed to join the Reds in their glory. He said:
“If you organize a bus parade, I’m in”
Klopp led Liverpool to eight titles during his tenure, including their sixth Champions League crown in 2019. He is widely hailed as their greatest manager by the fans for restoring the club back to it’s former glory.
Liverpool to begin a new era under Arne Slot
On 20 May, Liverpool officially announced Arne Slot as their new manager. The Dutchman will have big boots to fill as the Reds begin a new era under him. Some signings are also expected asthe squad could undergo a change during the summer.
