WATCH: Jude Bellingham’s red card angers Real Madrid players after disallowed goal
Jude Bellingham’s red card and his disallowed goal for Real Madrid against Valencia at Mestalla caused quite the stir following the game. Players from both sides were involved in a come-together and also surrounded referee Jesus Gil Manzano.
Jude Bellingham’s red card after the final whistle
The hosts had raced into a two-goal lead in three first-half minutes midway through the period after brilliant effort by their forwards. They were also aided by Daniel Carvajal’s error for the second goal and looked set for a shock win. However, Vinicius Junior grabbed one goal just before the break and added another in the 75th minute, making things interesting.
This led to Real Madrid attacking until the final whistle, with their last move producing a goal via Bellingham. However, referee Manzano had blown the final whistle before the pass was played towards the Englishman and hence the goal was automatically disallowed.
Jude Bellingham’s red card made him and his teammates livid and they surrounded the referee to demand explanations. However, the ref was having none of it and refused to entertain any complaints by Real Madrid players.
Jude Bellingham’s first red card for Real Madrid
Bellingham joined Los Blancos in 2023 from Borussia Dortmund and has made an instant impact. In 30 games so far, he has scored 20 goals and provided eight assists.
He has been fairly disciplined so far across competitions, picking up just nine yellow cards prior to last night’s game. However, Jude Bellingham’s red card against Valencia was the first for the midfielder in Los Blancos’ colours. He will now miss the club’s next two league games.
This includes their home game against Celta Vigo on March 10, followed by Real Madrid’s trip to face Osasuna on March 16.
