Spanish midfielder Isco in contention to play for Real Betis in their opening La Liga fixture for the 2024-2025 campaign
Isco is on the way to recover from his previous leg injury
Isco made his mark for the La Liga club Real Betis in the 2023-2024 La Liga season. He emerged as one of the most important players for the club and delivered several notable performances that changed the course of Real Betis’ season. The attacking midfielder was pretty much the focal point of every positive thing Manuel Pellegrini’s side did on the pitch in the recently concluded top-flight campaign.
However, Isco’s season was marked by several injury concerns which halted him from playing a decent chunk of matches for Real Betis last season. His first injury was a hamstring blow that he suffered in February 2024. The injury almost kept him out from the onfield action for about one and a half months. During the closing stages of the 2023-24 campaign, he suffered a broken left leg. The injury not only ended his La Liga season early but also kept him at bay from a Euro 2024 selection for Spain.

As per ‘Football Espana’, the 32-year-old recently went through surgery. His expected on-field return is reported to be around the middle period of August 2024. It is the same time about which the new 2024-2025 La Liga season is slotted to start. However as per ‘Estadio Deportivo’, reports from the Isco’s camp suggest that the player might become fully fit ahead of his expected on-field return time.
If so happens, he may potentially hold a chance to represent Real Betis in their opening season fixture against Girona at the Benito Villamarin. However, Isco is bound to miss Real Betis’ pre-season fixtures leading into the next campaign.
