Is the Chelsea Manager Set to Be Sacked by the Board? Pochettino Drops Hints
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino gives an impression that he is counting his days with The Blues as the season approaches to an end. The Argentinian hinted that he was burning out and exhausted with the pressure. According to Pochettino, he would leave everything up to the club’s board members if the time comes.
Pochettino has been under the microscope this season especially with the inconsistency Chelsea have shown throughout the season. The huge cash they have purchased last summer seems to be not working out on the pitch as Chelsea lost title after title.
Mauricio Pochettino: “Enough is enough”
The best Chelsea could get was the Carabao Cup final where they eventually lost to Liverpool. In the FA Cup, The Blues journey ended in the semifinal, let alone the Premier League.
“With this team with young guys, of course, I am going to take the responsibility,” said Pochettino via Football London. “But at the same time, we know the circumstances. I want to say enough is enough. All managers need time to translate their philosophy more with the team.
“It’s difficult to see every single week that I am under scrutiny and judgment. But it’s not my decision to be here or not to be here.”
Pochettino then stressed out the importance of time in building another title-winning generation in Chelsea. With Chelsea having four league games remaining, the former Southampton manager admitted that he would see where his fate goes.
“I can’t say nothing. What I can say is if after the decision, if we want to match the history of Chelsea it’s a lot of work to do. We’ll see if we have time to build this way.”
Chelsea will play three home games and one away to see where they end up on the table this season. The nearest schedule is to host fellow London side, West Ham United. After that, two away games against Nottingham Forest and Brighton are on the line. Before returning home to Stamford Bridge to face Bournemouth for the final matchup.
