“I have the same ambition as always” – Kylian Mbappe opens up on Paris Olympics participation
With less than five months left on his current contract, Kylian Mbappe’s future has been the topic of discussion from the very start of the season. That was especially after the forward reportedly rejected a move to Real Madrid and signed a contract extension with PSG. However, the extension was only for a year with a player option for another year.
That, according to reports, won’t be activated by the now 25-year-old as he plans to leave PSG for Real Madrid with reports indicating that the move is all but completed. But Mbappe’s focus is currently on the Parisians and France with the French forward on international duty with Les Blues. So much so, that he opened up about playing at the Paris Olympics at the end of the season.

Kylian Mbappe reveals his wish to play at the Paris Olympics
The summer Olympics have been a hot topic in football recently especially after France boss Didier Deschamps confirmed that Real Madrid won’t be releasing players for the tournament. The Paris Olympics will have football as a medal to be won with the U-23 squad set to take part. However, rules do allow senior players to play and several Les Blues’ stars currently ply their trade for the Los Blancos.
But in light of Madrid’s decision to omit their stars, Kylian Mbappe admitted that he would love to participate in the Olympics as it is a dream for him. However, the forward confessed that the decision is not up to him as the final decision rests with the French Football Federation. Not only that, he also confirmed his decision to accept whatever the Federation decides.
“I have the same ambition as always. I’ve always said that the Paris Olympics are something special and that I would like to be there, but I’ve always said that it’s not up to me,” Kylian Mbappe said, reported Forbes.
“The final decision is up to the Federation, now I can’t say anything, because I don’t have any news about whether they will let me play them. If I go, it will be a dream. If not, I’ll accept it and do what I’m told.”
Mbappe refutes claims of an agreement with Real Madrid
The Frenchman’s future has been a consistent topic of question for Mbappe and that was no different at this press conference as well. However, this time, questions were asked regarding the Athletic’s reports of an agreement between Mbappe and Real Madrid. But the 25-year-old refuted claims of an announcement and instead added that when he has something to say, he will tell the world.
“I don’t have anything to announce. The day I have something to say, I will say it, but until then there is nothing to say.” I’ve never hidden. The day I have to announce something I will do it, I have never been afraid, I will come out and say it. It won’t be anything serious, it’s just that I don’t have anything important to announce now, I’m very sorry to disappoint you,” Mbappe further explained.
