REVEALED: How much Chelsea have to pay for Roberto De Zerbi transfer
He is a free agent right now after leaving Brighton
Chelsea reportedly need to pay only €10 million for Roberto De Zerbi, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. De Zerbi parted ways with Brighton & Hove Albion after the end of the 2023-24 season and the Blues thereby have him on their radar with Mauricio Pochettino leaving the Stanford Bridge by mutual consent.
The west London side, who have shortlisted a few replacements for Pochettino, have to pay a small fee for De Zerbi, which amounts to only €10 million. His release clause was set at €15 million but has been reduced after his decision to step down from his role.
However, De Zerbi had admitted that he would like to manage a side in the Premier League once again, and may not turn down if Chelsea are serious about appointing him.
Roberto De Zerbi will have a big rebuilding task at Chelsea
Roberto De Zerbi proved his managerial credentials at Brighton by turning the minnows into giant hitters, and even guiding them to the Europa League last season. With the array of talent he would have at his disposal at Chelsea, the Italian manager could work wonders. The Blues fell short in their domestic ambitions once again this season, something that De Zerbi will be tasked with fixing when he arrives.
