Hakim Ziyech Transfer: Morocco forward set to leave Chelsea after Galatasaray seals deal

Hakim Ziyech Transfer: Chelsea departure is certain

After a successful loan spell at Galatasaray, Hakim Ziyech is all set to remain with the Turkish club from Chelsea.

The Moroccan winger moved from Ajax to Chelsea in 2020 for a price of £34m, but even though he won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup, he still did not find his feet in the evolving Chelsea team.

In August 2023, Ziyech moved to Galatasaray for a season-long loan, with a permanent deal in the cards.

As per reports, the Turkish club was very pleased in taking the opportunity forward by signing the 31-year-old on a full-time basis.

Out of £34m Chelsea’s part of the share is still unclear after selling Ziyech, but it opens the door for an ambitious summer transfer window and beyond.

The back story

Ziyech has managed to make 21 appearances and score 8 goals so far this season for the Turkish side. However, at Chelsea, he fell out of favour in Graham Potter’s side after scoring just 14 goals in 107 appearances, while also seeing a PSG move collapse on deadline day even after a visit to the French capital.

The ridiculous reason was Chelsea’s lack of attention as they missed calls at 10.46 pm, 10.48 pm, 10.49 pm, and 10.50 pm. Moreover, they even sent unsigned documents at 10.55 pm and 10.58 pm with blank spaces in the document, thereby preventing the deal.

Not so Turkish

Galatasaray has been crowned Turkish Cup winners after an unusual moment, that saw Fenerbahce forfeit the game by sending an under-19 team and walking off the pitch two minutes after the first whistle.

Things took another turn as Fenerbahce threatened to withdraw from the Turkish league due to the treatment of referees, but club members voted against their withdrawal.
