Germany were seemingly in front after just four minutes of their round-of-16 clash with Denmark at the Euro 2024, but the goal was ruled out. Joshua Kimmich was adjudged to have conceded a foul in the build-up.
The Diemannschaft, looking to win their fourth European championship on home turf, had made a fast start to the match. They won a corner, which Kroos stepped up to take, and brilliantly found Schloetterbeck on the edge of the 18-yard box.
The centre-back leaned forward, even getting ahead of Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in the process, and nodded his finish into an empty net. However, it was disallowed by referee Michael Oliver as Kimmich has guilty of committing a foul in the build-up.
A huge relief for Denmark.
