Germany vs Denmark Player Ratings as hosts claim 2-0 win at Euro 2024
Germany made it to the Euro 2024 quarter-final with a win against Denmark!
The hosts had a goal disallowed early, but VAR returned the favor in the second half by canceling out a Denmark goal. The Germans were awarded a penalty just seconds after Denmark had their goal disallowed and Kai Havertz made no mistake from the spot. His inch-perfect penalty gave Kasper Schmeichel no chance despite diving the right side.
Jamal Musiala put the game beyond Denmark’s reach by scoring in the 68th minute. The youngster has been in top form this summer and is now in the race for the Golden Boot.
Germany had multiple chances to increase their lead but saw their efforts go wide. Florian Wirtz put one in the net late in the match, but it was ruled out for offside.
Germany National Football Team Player Ratings vs Denmark
Goalkeeper
Manuel Neuer – 7.5: Had to make just two saves in the match and was spot-on with almost everything.
Defenders
Joshua Kimmich – 7.5: Another flawless performance from the right-back who has quietly had a very decent tournament. Hardly broke a sweat in the game and was able to keep his side in control.
Antonio Rüdiger – 9: Did not put a foot wrong. Even in a 2v1 situation, Rudiger managed to close down the opponent and force a poor pass.
Nico Schlotterbeck – 8: Unlucky that his goal was ruled out in the first half, but overall was on top of his game and ensured Rudiger got the support he needed.
David Raum – 7.5: Once again showed why he is the better option for Germany at left-back. Brilliant in attack and kept pushing the Denmark defense behind.
Midfielders
Robert Andrich – 7: Not his best game of the tournament, still a decent outing. Played just over 60 minutes and kept the ball rolling all the time.
Toni Kroos – 7.5: Was creating chances for fun tonight but could not get an assist. He managed just one shot, and it was blocked.
Leroy Sané – 6: Could have and should have done a lot more in the game. Was getting into the right position at time, but just did not look in control.
İlkay Gündoğan – 6: Another poor game for the captain and it would have not been a surprise if he was dropped. But with the armband, it would be a big call and something that is unlikely to happen.
Jamal Musiala – 7.5: Was not his best match but still managed to get a goal in the second half. Tried his best to get into the game and was not giving up.
Forward
Kai Havertz – 6: Apart from the penalty, it was another poor show from the forward. He missed easy chances and it could prove costly later for Germany.

Denmark national football team player ratings vs Germany
Goalkeeper
Kasper Schmeichel – 8: Denmark’s best player and the only reason they were still in the game right until the end. Made seven excellent saves, and that’s not counting the ones he stopped from late offside calls.
Defenders
Joachim Andersen – 5.5: Without VAR, he is a Denmark hero. But because of VAR, his goal got ruled out and he gave away a penalty seconds later.
Jannik Vestergaard – 6.5: Good game overall, but was getting beaten easily in the second half. Could have done a lot better for the second goal.
Andreas Christensen – 6.5: Did well to keep Havertz in check and also control Sane. He was also on Gundogan’s toes when needed to push the German captain away from the box.
Alexander Bah – 6: Was doing well against Musiala, but kept getting caught out of position a lot.
Midfielders
Thomas Delaney – 6: Tried his best to get into the box and give Denmark an extra man in the box, but just did not get the final touch right.
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg – 7: Did well in his deep role and hardly put a foot wrong. There was very little he could do about the goals and the missed chances up front.
Joakim Mæhle – 6.5: Much better than most of his teammates but still not enough. Was up and down the pitch, but never troubled the Germans at either end.
Andreas Skov Olsen – 6: Hardly made an impact in the game despite playing further up the pitch. He did not get any shot away and managed just 24 touches in his 70 minutes.
Christian Eriksen – 7.5: Pick of the Danish outfielders but just not enough to get them a goal. Tried to shoot twice from outside the box, but was blocked easily.
Forward
Rasmus Højlund – 6.5: Games like these are when Hojlund would be hoping that he had better two-footed ability. He had a great chance in the second half, but the shot with his left foot was straight at Neuer, while a tough one to the right which could have resulted in a goal.
