Former Barcelona player Gerard Pique finds himself amidst the probe for the Spanish Super Cup’s Saudi Arabia deal
Gerard Pique included as Spanish Judge extends investigation in regards to the Spanish Super Cup deal
Former FC Barcelona and Spain player Gerard Pique has been reportedly included in the probe for the Spanish Football Federation’s much-talked-about deal, directed towards taking the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia. Pique finds himself among the group of personnel now being placed under formal investigation regarding the whole fiasco.
As per ‘REPUBLIC’, this became known to the press after certain enlisted documents were served to them, which were worked under the presence of Judge ‘Delia Rodrigo’. The investigation is reported to be looking upon the major suspiciousness of ‘money laundering’, directed toward the execution of the Spanish Super Cup.

According to reports, a certain contract was signed between the Spanish Football Federation and Saudi Arabia in the years 2019 and 2020. It persuaded a deal standing to a ’10-year agreement’, which was to host a football tournament in Saudi. The deal was reportedly worth around 43 million dollars (40 million euros).
However, as mentioned in a report by the ‘REPUBLIC’, a police raid confiscated some documents that signaled that an additional sum of four million dollars has to be leveraged to Gerard Pique’s company named ‘Kosmos’ (configured as a sports entertainment entity). Reports tell that in April 2024, similar Judge ‘Delia Rodrigo’ directed to freeze the official bank account of Kosmos. It remains to be seen what further developments take place in this matter.
