Funniest and most trending moments from Copa America 2024
The Copa America 2024 is currently in full swing, having commenced last week in the USA. The tournament has already seen some excellent goals, brilliant goalkeeping, some tough battles and some iconic players making their way back into the limelight.
Holders Argentina have already qualified for the quarter-finals after winning their first two group games. Brazil, meanwhile, were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by Costa Rica. Uruguay and the USA began their campaign on a winning note as well.

While a tournament like Copa America is always intense and has plenty of high stakes, there have been some light moments in and around it so far. Let’s take a look at some of Copa America 2024 Funniest moments:
Neymar buys jerseys from street vendors
Neymar doesn’t feature for Brazil at Copa America 2024 due to an ACL injury he suffered last year. He has been out of action for months now and is certainly a huge miss for Le Selecao.
However, his injury hasn’t stopped him from attending Brazil’s game in the USA. Ahead of their clash against Costa Rica on June 24, Neymar stopped at a traffic signal on his way to the stadium. He spotted a local vendor selling jerseys and asked them for a Brazilian one.
As the vendor got closer, he realized that it was Neymar in the car and his reaction was priceless a couple of other people also joined in to take pictures with him!

Another video that has gone viral from the tournament has been Neymar’s reactions during Brazil’s clash against Costa Rica. The Al-Hilal forward witnessed the game as a fan at the SoFi Stadium in California.
With Brazil not having a great game, Neymar went through a roller-coaster of emotions throughout. His puzzled look at Vinicius Jr.’s substitution was a highlight in particular.
A special guest at Brazil’s game
While it was a drab 0-0 draw, the Brazil-Costa Rica clash has generated plenty of buzz outside the pitch. One of the moments that caught everyone’s attention was seeing Ted Lasso actor Jason Sudeikis in attendance at the SoFi Stadium to watch the game.
For the unversed, Ted Lasso is a TV series based around a football coach.
Fans celebrate Lionel Messi’s birthday
Another iconic moment during Copa America 2024 was a number of fans seen celebrating Argentina legend Lionel Messi’s birthday at Times Square in New York. They chanted his name, wished him and also did a flag ceremony to celebrate his birthday.

Messi turned 37 years old on Monday, June 24. Along with the aforementioned celebrations at Times Square, some fans also joined together to reach outside Argentina’s team hotel to greet their legend.
Messi then came to the window of the hotel to greet those fans and express gratitude for their wishes.
