Fulham deadline day: Jay Stansfield joins Championship side on a permanent deal; Reiss Nelson’s move secured
Premier League club Fulham’s forward, Jay Stansfield has joined EFL Championship side Birmingham City on a permanent deal during the 2024 summer transfer window’s deadline day.
Stansfield played alongside Raul Jiminez in Fulham’s front line for their Carabao Cup second-round game against Birmingham at St. Andrews. The 21-year-old scored the first goal for the match for Marco Silva’s side, contributing to their 0-2 win.
After scoring the goal, Jay Stansfield didn’t celebrate and held his hands up in acknowledgment, maybe signaling he is close to securing a potential permanent move to Birmingham City.
Meanwhile, the Cottagers have also secured a loan move for winger Reiss Nelson from Arsenal on deadline day. Nelson will be with Marco Silva’s side for the entire spell of the 2024-25 season.
