Frank Lampard ready to return to management for right opportunity
Following a disastrous end to his time at Everton, few expected Frank Lampard to return to Chelsea again but the Blues’ legend did just that as a caretaker after Graham Potter was sacked. However, things didn’t go well for Lampard as he won just one out of eleven games to cap a dismal season for the Stamford Bridge side. They ended up finishing 12th in the league and missed out on European football for the first time since then 2015/16 season.
It hasn’t helped Lampard’s cause since then as the 45-year-old has been out of a job since leaving the Blues at the end of the 2022/23 season. However, he was linked with a move to Rangers in October 2023 but while Lampard was reportedly at the top of the shortlist, the former Derby County boss didn’t get the job. Instead, Philippe Clement landed the role and roles have been few and far since then for the Englishman.
Frank Lampard is actively pursuing a return to management
Yet despite that, Lampard remains confident of his future as a manager and welcomes the chance to manage again. In an interview with TalkSport, the 45-year-old admitted that while he is enjoying spending time with his family, he is actively open to opportunities that come his way. But Lampard reiterated the fact that his family currently comes first and thus he’ll only hit the dugout for the right job.

“Yeah enjoying being with the family and looking to get back at some point. Hopefully something comes up that feels the right thing for me, I’m keen to get working again but as I reiterate, I am enjoying the [family life],” Lampard told TalkSport.
“It’s an intense job so when you’re out of it, it’s nice to appreciate being around all my children, my young children particularly and spending more time with those.”
Lampard not affected by rigours of management
The 45-year-old has been sacked twice in his young managerial career so far with him leaving Chelsea and Everton in January of 2021 and 2023 respectively. It has affected his stock but more so, many believe that it may have put too much pressure on Lampard too early. However, he refuted those claims and instead revealed that he loves being a manager, despite the downsides.
“No, not at all. You love the job, you understand the rigours of it in the modern day, we see it so much. I’ve enjoyed all the clubs I’ve worked with, they’ve all been big challenges obviously for different reasons. I enjoy trying to work with players, improve players, improve teams, so let’s see what comes,” he added.
